What is Aphasia?
Aphasia is a disorder resulting from damage to parts of the brain that are responsible for language. Aphasia usually occurs suddenly, often from a stroke or head injury, but it may also develop slowly, as in the case of a brain tumor, an infection, or dementia. The disorder impairs the expression and understanding of language as well as reading and writing.

What they do ...
Provide opportunities to everyone through which they can improve their lives using the power that Sunderland AFC and football has in the North East to engage people from 18 months to 80 years plus. They offer something for everyone, with programmes impacting health, behaviour, attitude, skills, knowledge and more. Although linked to SAFC, they are financially independent of the football club, which means fundraising £4million every year.
County Durham Food Bank
Emergency food for local people in crisis.
